Song of the Moment: Words that kill by Die Trying
Ciao.
School was pretty boring today, although the stuff I did afterschool was pretty.... fun, I guess. Had government as usual. We had a freaking quiz (more like a fucking mid-term FINAL) which everyone failed. It was like, "Question #1: Name all of the ammendments in the constitution in numerical order, and then recite every single freedom that Americans have, in alphabetical order. Question #2: Name ALL OF THE US SENATORS. Question #3: Name all of the presidents of the United States of the past, in order, and state how long they kept their presidency." I was like.... WHAT THE FLYING FUCK. lol. If the teacher grades it based on a curve, then probably everyone would get an A.... since everyone failed it. Gar.
After government, was Analysis. We had this group activity/review for next week's quiz. Our "pod group" was the saddest group EVER. We were supposed to have ONE SHEET to have our final answers on, in which we would have to show the teacher and have each problem (10 total) stamped. Our group had TWO answer sheets because of the lack of communication. This guy named Garret got his sheet stamped like, three times and Dylan got his stamped (the first time 'round) two times... so in "total", we had 5 stamps out of 10. Ugh. So sad.
After Analysis, I had Art 2/3/4. All I did in that class was finish my warm-up charcoal drawing of an eye (wow... how hard), and re-take my picture for our self-portrait. Fuuuuun. After all of the FUN-NESS, I had Cisco Networking, where we learned some new commands for the command prompt, and for telnet. It's like... basic hacking. In all honesty, it was pretty fun. AND OH YEAH! There's this reaaaally nerdy, white as rice nerd in our class that's like a little over FIVE FEET TALL that came up to Ashley with a piece of folded-up paper saying, "Take this" and walked away. Ashley opened the paper, silent with a blank look on her face, and put it away. Of course, I was being totally FILIPINO and got up in her business. I was like, "Lemmie see lemmie see!!!!!"
Lorraine and I bursted up in LAUGHTER AND TEARS OF EVEN MORE LAUGHTER. He gave her his number and website. Lorraine I and teased Ashley for a good amount of time, until I told them I had to go and catch my bus. Fucking comedy gold. It's even funnier since Ashley's doesn't even have a phone (cell or at her house), not like she would ever call that guy. Seriously, his tone of voice when he said, "Take this" was sooooo fucking nerdy, he might as well stated a quote from Star Wars or something and started waving his arms around as if he was using a light saber. lol
Moving on... I had planned earlier to cash my check and go to Cabrillo to buy my Italian textbook and workbooks. I go downtown to Wells Fargo, waited for what seemed like a fucking HOUR, cashed my check, and took the bus towards Cabrillo. When I finally got there, they had changed the freaking hours on me from 6PM to freaking 2PM. Pissed of was Mil. Wahh.
To cheer myself up, I took the bus back to downtown and then to Borders, where I bought four books:
-Webster's New World Italian Dictionary (semi-requirement for my class)
-Odd Girl Out By Rachel Simmons "The hidden culture of aggression in girls" (I actually started reading this today [got to page 83] and it's really quite interesting.)
-One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Ken Kesey "Boisterous, ribald, and ultimately shattering, this is the unforgettable story of a mental ward and its inhabitants..." (Sounds interesting...)
-'Tis Frank McCOURT A memoir.
Odd Girl Out is a very informative book. Not informative as in "whoa what the fuck... that's WAY too much information", but informative as in "wow, that's really interesting. I never knew that, but it makes sense" type of deal. If you are a girl and you think you're the only one that has wierd, aggressive feelings or if you feel as if you're left out, if you've experienced being bullied or you bully someone and you have no idea why, this is the book to read. On the other hand, if you're a guy and you're confused about the actions and PMS of some (or most.. or all) girls, then you should also read this book. This book is non-fictional, so all of the stories in here are real and the author of this book actually went across the nation, interviewing girls ranging from the ages of 7-18, about their personal experiences. If you're interested in the philosophy of the human mind (in the case of this book, mainly the mind of girls and women), then this is really the book for you. It's refreshing learning new things about how girls' minds work, and very comforting knowing that you're not the only girl to have experience certain experiences and such.
Garrr okay, that was my review of the... year..... since I haven't really reviewed or talked about any book in FOREVER. I've talked about books I've read in person, but this was the first book i've read in a while that was actually worth [typing] about. Hah.
Anywho, my schedule for tommorow is pretty packed. My mom and I are leaving roughly around 8-9ish in the morning to go to the Boardwalk so I could redeem my 100+ dollar gift certificates for selling those stupid promotional bottles this summer. Afterwards, she is taking me to Cabrillo so I can finally get my Italian reading/studying materials from the Cabrillo Bookstore. Finally, we are going to the San Jose LBC so we can send my Aunt money for her birthday. I am giving her 20 dollars... i don't know how much my mom is giving her, but I bet you my brother and sister are too cheap to give her anything. My sister might give her 10 dollars, but my brother is like -200 dollars in his bank, plus he owes my mom an extra 200 dollars for his Cabrillo fees, PLUS he STILL owes me 40 dollars. The little shit is in so much debt it's depressing.
Last and definitely LEAST [haha], I didn't make the Fall Play. It's all good, because I'm busy enough with my school work as it is and I need the extra time to read my books so yay. XD I was actually pretty reluctant that I hadn't made it, because I probably would have ended up either dropping one of my classes in sacrifice to the play, or dropping out of the play in sacrifice for my grades. It would have been a dilemma that I am definitely not in the mood to face right now.
Oh yeah one more thing... I need to remember to get the packet for Science Camp, so I can get my community service hours over with in one week. Plus, I should take it as soon as possible so I wouldn't go in a week when I have like, ten trillion tests in my classes and stuff. Garrrr. I shall go now and get to a readin'!
Arrivaderci, Buonadotte!
